Product Description

Birch is an excellent handle material for a knife and it is almost in the sole of a bushcraft knife as birch is such a useful tree.

It is durable and lovely to work and so easy to maintain and finish. You can simply sand it to a smooth finish and give it a bath in boiled linseed oil and it is good to go. You don't need any fancy finishing products but you can get a mirror shine if you choose to use a wax or polish.

The advantage of birch for a handle is that if you scratch it or damage it in the field simply sand out the damage and oil it. Easy, simple and great looking; it is probably why it is so favoured in Scandinavia for knife handles.

Block - 125mm x 25mm x 40mm
