Gas stoves will lose a substantial amount of pressure when they encounter freezing temperatures or high altitude and they will simply not boil water. The Svea carries on going when many have just given up as you initially pressurise the white gasoline and then when lit it pressurises itself with its own heat – dead simple.

The OPTIMUS SVEA - cult stove of the climbing society and used in Northern climates for donkey’s years – it is an ultra-classic lightweight gasoline stove in solid brass. It has been around for a century and still sets the standard for compact outdoor cooking equipment.
