The Silva Roamer is a great addition to your kit, it is an invaluable aid to navigation as it gives you all sorts of scales for all sorts of maps and situations. Especially handy for micro navigation and navigating through dense forest (as we all like to do).

Combined with a good compass, map, map case and a pace counter it is all you ever need for navigation. Remember there is no substitute for knowledge - GPS's run out of batteries!!
