The Smith's Precision Sharpening Kit is an excellent quality, well made and very effective piece of kit. We have been trialing this kit for some time now and it is easily a brilliant rival for the Lansky products.

We really like it as it is so effective it will have your knives shave sharp in no time. It is very easy to use and has just the stones you need and comes with some honing oil all packed in it's own handy case.

The Yellow is a diamond cutting stone that will get out chips and damage to a knife and get the edge sharp, the Red stone is then for polishing and putting a final shave sharp edge on you knife. The Blue stone is for sharpening the serrations that some knives have and will help maintain your knife in tip top condition.

Our firm belief is that there is nothing more dangerous than a blunt knife as you will end up forcing it and doing yourself some damage so a little maintenance once a week is a great habit to get into to maintain a sharp edge and a healthy blade. By regularly maintaining a knife you will probably only need to use the one stone (the red) just to put an edge back on your knife.
