The Ridgeback Bushcraft Knife is another one of our designs that is one of those knives that just work. Designed again from scratch with the maker, this knife was originally designed by me to be a knife for dressing big game. It turned out to be such a good knife to handle it naturally lent itself to all the Bushcraft and field tasks it encountered.
We are very proud of the Ridgeback and will be bringing it to you in 2 different varieties. The 2 variants will be a Bushcraft model which has a 4mm thick blade and handled in Yew, as it not only looks good it is tough. The second will be a 3mm version that is handled in high visibility Orange G10.
This knife is, yet again, bombproof. It is strong enough for all those Bushcraft tasks yet sharp enough to skin and use for field butchery in either variant. Both variants can be used for all applications but we would recomend that you buy the relevant model that you intend to use it for most.
It is Scandi ground and has a full edge so it is dead easy to maintain and a breeze to sharpen.
It's handle shape has a wonderfully ergonomic feel whichever way you are using and has raised guards between the blade and handle for ease of grip and additional protection. The original design was to stop your fingers sliding onto the blade when butchering a carcass, if you hit bone it can be a hazard! This design in the handle we then found lent itself so well for camp tasks the Bushcraft version naturally evolved.
It comes in a tough full grain leather sheath that is purposely designed to be ambidextrous. It will fit and hold the knife wherever it is on your belt. The design of the sheath will change very slightly as we will be squaring of the bottom a little.

All in all this is a brilliant piece of kit that would be an asset to anyone's stable and we are glad to be able to bring you an English handmade product that will last a lifetime and perform faultlessly. It is another one of those knives that just sit so well in your hand you know it will go on forever.
Please note that the Yew with differ from knife to knife as it is a completely natural product, some will be lighter and not as red but others will be the same. In all cases we will strive to colour match as far as possible.

The inspiration for the name (My Rhodesian Ridgeback). The original knife was designed for big game and it has a ridge on it's back!!
