The Buffalo Mountain Shirt takes all its inspiration from the Special 6 shirt which is an absolute design classic and is the one of the best bits of kit on the market today. The Mountain Shirt uses all the same technology but is shorter in the body.
It has often been imitated but never equalled. I had one many years ago but eventually it got damaged beyond repair (my fault, not the product!) and had to be binned. I remember wearing it for 99% of the time doing Mountain Leader Training in some really poor conditions and it became a must have piece of kit for me when ever taking a group out or facing bad weather.
To give an example I remember doing a days worth of river crossing training simply to teach us - never to cross rivers! It was lashing it down with rain and we were in and out of the river for quite some time. I wore it all day long with only a t-shirt and, although I was wet, I was still perfectly warm - That is what Buffalo clothing is so good for!
The Mountain Shirt is a single layer garment which is ideal for a multitude of outdoor uses including: winter hill walking, trekking, winter climbing and general outdoor activities.
Used by Mountain Rescue teams and outdoor professionals.
This garment works most efficiently when worn next to the skin or with a wicking t-shirt
Sizing is important as the shirt should be close fitting without being restrictive.

MADE IN ENGLAND Great all round smock
I’ve had this type of smock before by another uk brand but as they no longer make it anymore I thought I’d buy the real thing. Well worth the extra money it’s lighter and the pile lining is much better providing much better warmth and comfort. Going out on Dartmoor soon so looking forward to talking it with me and putting it to good use. If you’re thinking of getting one don’t hesitate you won’t be disappointed. Sizing is true to size I’m 6”’2 and a 44” chest arms are a perfect length and it’s a nice fit. No need for anything other than a base layer, not a fan of wearing it next to the skin but it’s still a comfortable and recommended option. Great service as usual from Thebushcraftstore.
