The Buffalo Special 6 Shirt is an absolute design classic and is the one of the best bits of kit on the market today. It has often been imitated but never equaled. I had one many years ago but eventually it got damaged beyond repair (my fault, not the product!) and had to be binned. I remember wearing it for 99% of the time doing Mountain Leader Training in some really poor conditions and it became a must have piece of kit for me when ever taking a group out or facing bad weather.
To give an example I remember doing a days worth of river crossing training simply to teach us - never to cross rivers! It was lashing it down with rain and we were in and out of the river for quite some time. I wore it all day long with only a t-shirt and, although I was wet, I was still perfectly warm - That is what Buffalo clothing is so good for!
It was developed with the Special Forces and has been tested for over 30 years in the most hostile conditions and is extensively used by the World's professionals
This garment works most efficiently when worn next to the skin or in conjunction with a wicking t-shirt.
Sizing is important as the shirt should be close fitting without being restrictive.

Product every bit as good as anticipated, so very pleased with it. You Tube reviews well worth watching as these are from experienced people who have used this much longer than me and in a wider range of conditions. My first impressions are this will do exactly as they describe, so thoroughly recommended.
Awesome but be careful!
First off, this is a fantastic jacket. I don't know how to explain how warm and well it blocks the wind, rain, hail. Whatever it is. Pockets are great sizes, if anything it's too warm for anything but bad weather or cold nights!
However, and this is no fault to the jacket and purely my own. Be extremely careful with it around fires. Like with any Pertex garment it will literally disintegrate if the smallest ember or spark strikes it. So if you're planning on wearing it around camp fires or stoves.. Just don't. Again this is no fault of the jacket itself, just something to be careful of in use. That is the only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars. If you're after a warm jacket that will dry you off if you're wet, or to stop you getting wet in nasty conditions. The Special 6 might be the one!
