Frost River Messenger Bags are, of course, superb quality and make a perfect alternative to a day sack. There are loads of imitations of this type of bag but they are simply that - Imitations....
These full featured shoulder bags bring the messenger bag to a higher level. Borrowing elements from the Vintage pack, a pair of premium leather flapstraps go up and over the main flap of the bag. They hook into a solid brass post and offer speed with security like no other Frost River design. The 2” shoulder strap is attached directly to the bag and comes with a leather shoulder pad. The strap is adjustable and long enough to be worn across most chests. Built from waxed canvas, premium leather, and solid brass at our shop in Duluth, Minnesota.

Brilliant item, really well made, and looks old fashioned, but in the very best way. Dependable, strong and designed well. Rather than the modern fashion of Tactical or sparkling, which seems more about impressing others, than functionality. It is expensive , but will last... Buy cheap, buy twice. So well worth the cost for a forever bag.

I had always used the messenger style bag for my everyday travels for its convenience.
I bought the big rucksack from this site and company for transporting my bushcraft equipment, and I love the quality and design so much on that I thought it would be best to replace my cheap, broken, messenger bag with this one.
I ordered the big version and it serves its purpose well.
I do wish that it had some way of fascinating the back pocket, even if it was just cordage that tightened it a bit to the back of the bag, but it's certainly not a deal breaker or significant.
