The Helikon Bergen Backpack follows the great success of the Matilda and is a as you have come to expect from Helikon. It is a quality piece with a well thought out design and will serve you well for years.
Matildas backpack success confirmed Helikon's belief that there is a place for a new backpack in the Bushcraft line. This is how Bergen was created. Similar to the smaller version of Matilda, but still different. The pack is designed to contain the most important equipment for a short journey. The main chamber with a capacity of 18 l. houses clothing and equipment for camping, in pockets on the sides we can fit food or water bottles.
The middle pocket has a removable pipe that protects small items from being lost. Bergen has three places to carry an axe and two pockets for a saw or knife. You can attach pockets or gloves to the MOLLE/PALS hidden on the front. Additional items of equipment can be attached from below or to the backpacks flap. Made entirely of Cordura 500D.
  • Transport handle
  • Stiffened back
  • Comfortable carrying system

Great bit of kit!

Bought the Helikon Bergen with a view to using as a day to day pack, ferrying stuff to work and for day hikes etc. However on receipt I realised that with the addition of some webbing straps on the bottom I can fit enough gear for a weekend camp in it. The Cordura fabric is very tough, generous pockets, quality buckles and plenty of attachment points, excellent bit of kit. Love the pockets nestled behind the front and side pockets too! handy for an axe , folding saw and knife to be concealed. 10/10

Almost perfect

Almost perfect, is wish it was just a little bigger main compartment, and the little pocket on the top again a little bigger. Also the pockets behind the pouches are genius but I use for all sorts of gear but not axes so for me having them open at the bottom is not good, I like being able to get at items without opening pockets and searching. Chocolate bars fall through :) with the holes. Didn’t think I’d use the hidden Molly loops but There are a fantastic touch. Such a well thought out pack. Also the having the four loops to and bottom for adding straps is great for me as I’ve always attached rain gear like that for quick access. A little bigger and I’d never need another pack again just 25 litres instead of 18

Excellent pack

I love this pack. The pack carries extremely well and is pretty much a perfect day pack.
