Helikon Groundhog Backpack
The Helikon Groundhog Backpack is an excellent sized pack for on the move. It is perfectly suited as a light daypack and I am a fan. (I have one myself so certainly recommend it).
It is a great example of the fact, that compact size does not limit the functionality. This small backpack is great for short hiking, riding a bike or just as every day carry pack. It has a spacious main compartment that can easily hold not only a hydration bladder via the webbing hanger, but also can accommodate additional clothing or equipment. Additionally there is an expandable pocket on the front of the pack, with a vertically positioned zip.
It features a stowable, mesh "beavertail" that allows you to carry a helmet, wet clothing or other useful bulky items separating them from the rest of the equipment. On both sides of the pack there are two zipped pockets with additional mesh bottle holders, stabilised with compression strap. Additionally, on both sides of the pack there are two rows of MOLLE Lite. 15mm webbing allows you to mount some extra pouches. Additionally, the smaller width of the webbing makes the gear lighter. The carrying system of the pack is based on the narrow, padded, profiled shoulder straps, backed with 3D mesh. Same 3D mesh is also on the stiffened, padded back, reducing the sweat problem. For better stabilisation the pack has minimalist hip and chest straps.
