Millbank Style water filter bags have been around for years and have been an invaluable tool for clean water. Water is life and bad water will kill you. I love a pump water filter and carry an MSR when out and about but really dirty water will clog it up so a Millbank bag is an essential tool to not only prolong the life of the filter but to keep it operating at peak efficiency.
The Water Filter Bag allows to initially prepare water for consumption. Based on a design used by the British Army during World War II, this filter has been fitted with an integral carrying bag and a string for attaching it to a branch. The string has a pin, so you don't have to tie it. This significantly speeds up the use of the filter in the field. The filter cleans the water from mechanical impurities. After filtration, it is enough to use chemical tablets or boil water.
Please remember, Millbank Bags are a "Pre-Filter" only and get rid of larger detritus, you still need to treat the filtered water.

Old school efficiency
Only tested this in the garden with the water butt so far. Not had a chance to use in anger yet. But it does what it says on the tin. I got it to prefilter and extend the life of my main water filter.
Simple, effective, small pack size, little to go wrong and no complicated procedure or parts to lose.
