Helikon SERE Pouch
SERE Pouch is is a universal pouch for survival and bushcraft equipment. Its name refers to the SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape) training system. It is made from durable Cordura 500D and it allows the use of four different mounting and carrying systems. In addition to the classic MOLLE / PALS it can be worn in a lowered position on Duty Belts and like a fanny pack.
It will accommodate the basic elements needed in crisis situations (e.g. a folding knife, multitool, tinder, flashlight or lighter), allowing them to be placed in pockets designed for heavier or small items. Gloves can be attached to the loops on the sides.
- Made of Cordura 500D
- Woojin buckles
- Four ways to mount and carrying
- Mesh pocket for small items
- Loops to secure the content
- External loops for mounting additional items
Perfect EDC
Bought to carry all the EDC stuff normally filling my pockets, and it works a treat.
I chose this pouch for the “dangler” option of having it hanging off my belt, rather than having my belt through loops on the back (although that is an option too). It also has molle fittings.
Simple organisation setup of 3 vertical slots/pockets allows quick selection of most commonly used items, even without looking. Mine containing
1. Multi tool
2. Spoon and can opener plus tinder
3. Torch
And a zipped mesh pocket that has my meds and first aid.
The rest of the pouch can take bigger items like my magnifying glass, compass, cordage etc.
A two way zip means you can zip from the front which ever side you choose to wear it.
So far I’m very happy with it and if my previous experience of Helikon is anything to go by it should be quite robust. It’s part of their Bushcraft range.
Not designed for EDC, but after a long search of other EDC-specific pouches, this one ticks more of my boxes than the others.
Useful belt pouch that has its own belt
It's just the right size to fit useful items, not too big to be cumbersome, not to small to be useless.
Fero rod, pocket torch and lighter fit well in the small internal pockets. Small compass and a pocket knife etc.
The belt that comes with the pouch is a good size, about 1 inch wide and fits around my 40inch waist with room to spare.
Highly recommended.
Lots of mountain by options
The pouch is compact but big enough to organise small items like lighters, tinder and pocket knife.
The pouch can be worn on the belt vertically or horizontally; on it’s included strap; hanging below the belt on built in loop; or using molle.
None of these fitting interfere with each other either very flexible.
