Jack Stillman Pacific Rugged Rain Poncho - Jungle

When I saw the Jack Stillman Ponchos is was an easy decision for me, we had to be a stockist. I love a product that doesn't really need explaining as you can just see that it works on a number of levels.

A poncho is always a great piece of kit for you and your kit but can work well as an emergency shelter as well. The problem though is that they are always made from Nylon or Polyester and the first time you go through anywhere with any thorns, bramble or rough forest you are going to damage it, make holes or even tear it. Canvas is obviously different as it stands up to much more punishment but, and this is the real bonus, if you do damage it is easy to repair. You can also add more wax and it is easy to re-treat.

The Pacific model is a Tropical-Weight Waxed Canvas which is built more for warm, wet places where you want coverage without feeling wrapped in a sleeping bag. There’s no full-body liner to keep weight and heat down, but you still get the performance of waxed cotton: water-repellent, breathable, and naturally resistant to stink. When the years add up, you can re-wax it and keep the fabric working instead of replacing the whole poncho.

Brass Snaps, Built to Age - Solid brass snap buttons are mounted with leather washers for long-term strength and cleaner wear over time. Three snaps per side let you create sleeves and close the sides when the weather turns ugly, reducing flap and driving rain. It’s the kind of hardware that doesn’t chip like plated stuff—just settles into a proper patina and keeps doing its job for years.

Seamless Shoulder Shield - Cut as one continuous piece of 8oz waxed canvas, the Pacific Poncho removes seams from the shoulder/body zone using our in-house folding system. That means fewer leak points, less chafe under straps, and double-layer protection right where rain and abrasion hit hardest. The built-in shoulder shaping also creates a natural runoff path, so water sheds fast instead of soaking in.

This poncho is the culmination of years of customer feedback and personal experience building rain ponchos. Jarrod Stillman  personally tested this design in monsoonal downpours and a typhoon to get it right. I think we might have designed something profoundly unique and useful here.
