Jack Stillman Ranger Rugged Rain Poncho - Black

When I saw the Jack Stillman Ponchos is was an easy decision for me, we had to be a stockist. I love a product that doesn't really need explaining as you can just see that it works on a number of levels.

A poncho is always a great piece of kit for you and your kit but can work well as an emergency shelter as well. The problem though is that they are always made from Nylon or Polyester and the first time you go through anywhere with any thorns, bramble or rough forest you are going to damage it, make holes or even tear it. Canvas is obviously different as it stands up to much more punishment but, and this is the real bonus, if you do damage it is easy to repair. You can also add more wax and it is easy to re-treat.

The Ranger Poncho differs from the Pacific Poncho as it features a warm 3/4 Liner. Inside, the Ranger runs a cosy 3/4 liner that takes the edge off cold-to-moderate conditions—especially when you’re standing around at a sporting event, walking the dog, or sitting near a fire at camp. There’s also an internal sleeve gutter designed to help protect the liner from getting hammered by runoff.

The Ranger Poncho also features a Full-Length Storm Zip. It is a fully openable front with a full-length YKK AquaGuard waterproof zipper, backed up by a zip guard to reduce wind and water pushing through the teeth. It’s the difference between “a poncho” and gear you can actually live in—easy on/off at camp, quick ventilation control, and better coverage when you’re moving around.

Waxed Canvas, Not Plastic - Made from heavyweight 8oz waxed cotton canvas that shrugs off rain without feeling like plastic. The wax finish makes water bead and run, while the cotton still breathes so you don’t get that sweaty, clammy vibe. It’s also easy to maintain long-term—when the fabric starts to dry out, you can re-wax it and keep it performing for years.

Packable, Repairable, Guaranteed - Sized for proper coverage (84cm L x 132cm W), rolls down to about 33cm x 12cm, and comes with an 8oz canvas carry pouch—ideal for vehicle camping and “just in case” weather. Built with reinforced construction and backed by a lifetime workmanship guarantee, so it’s meant to be kept, not replaced.

Hood + Sleeve Control - Integrated hood with a loose fit for coverage (great over hats/beanies), plus a roll-down hood tidy when you don’t need it. Snap the sides closed to cut drafts and create sleeves, so the poncho stops flapping around while you’re working, walking, or ducking in and out of the car. Custom brass buttons are built for real use.

This poncho is the culmination of years of customer feedback and personal experience building rain ponchos. Jarrod Stillman  personally tested this design in monsoonal downpours and a typhoon to get it right. I think we might have designed something profoundly unique and useful here.
