Mastering Fire Day Workshop

This Mastering Fire Day Workshop teaches you the most ancient skill of fire lighting. Fire is an obvious essential and being able to light a fire in various conditions with various techniques is an invaluable skill.

You will learn all 6 different possible methods of ignition, but with the main focus being the iconic skill of fire by friction, using the bow drill method. This unique skill gives you the confidence to be able to light a fire with nothing but a cutting tool and what nature provides, and there is lots of hands on time to practise the skills you have learned under supervision and with feedback tips and advice on technique. You will also learn about Tinder, Kindling, Fuel selection, Fire Lays and Fire Management.

Day Workshops run from 9.30am to 4.30pm

All knives, tools and equipment used during the workshop are supplied, but of course you are welcome to bring your own. If you have any questions or queries please do not hesitate to contact us.

All of our courses are run by our highly qualified and experienced lead instructor Graham who, like all good teachers, remains a student for life. He holds various independent qualifications and skills including - NCFE Level 4 Bushcraft Leader, NCFE Level 4 Practical Ethnobotany, Cybertracker Track and Sign Level 2, Cybertracker Wildlife Trailing Level 2, GB Archery Qualified Archery Instructor, Institute of Outdoor Learning Member, and writes articles for magazines. He is a full time Bushcraft Instructor working with both adults and children all year round.
