Mora Garberg & TBS Firesteel Combo

The Mora Garberg Knife is the first "Full Tang" knife that Mora have produced and we are firmly behind the idea. Mora are one of the best producers of quality knives in the World and it was high time they produced a product like this.     

They have certainly done a good job and the Garberg is a creditable alternative to plenty of other full tang knives on the market today.

The Mora Garberg knife is a powerful fulltang knife, designed to withstand the toughest challenges it may face. The blade is 3.2 mm thick and made of high quality stainless steel specially treated in Mora's factory to make it even stronger. The blade has a proper Scandi Grind which makes the knife easier to keep sharp. Moreover, the blade back ground to be used with firestarter, so that the vital fire is always close at hand. 

Mora Knives have been crafted in Östnor for over a century. Once they were made in every home by local craftsmen who passed down their skills from generation to generation.

The Combo comes with the Firetseel attachment that are 3D printed for us in the US out of durable PLA Plus plastic. The were initially made from ABS plastic but this has been changed to PLA Plus as it is simply tougher and really durable. It is a little more expensive but the additional strength is well worth the money. REMEMBER, not all 3D printed plastics are the same and could use very much inferior materials.....

It allows you to carry a range of sizes of firesteel up to 12.5mm (TBS Fatboy). You may need to use a piece of shock cord to secure your firesteel in place (picture 5). It comes with 2 firesteel rod spacers to fit different sizes and if you find that the size or shape of your firesteel handle interferes with the insertion of the rod, insert the next bigger sized rod spacer to give it more room to articulate. Alternatively you can mount the firesteel in reverse and use shock cord to secure it.

They fit extremely tightly the sheath and do not require any glue. Of course, you could glue it if you so desire to give you an extra level of security.

FIRESTEEL

It produces a 3000 degree spark and should last thousands of strikes. It is water and oil resistant and won't break in tough conditions. It is designed to tolerate temperature fluctuations and is safe to use - it won't ignite itself.
