Pathfinder Stainless Steel PFM40 Swedish Cook Set
The Pathfinder Swiss Cook Set is an excellent quality piece of kit that is made from Stainless Steel rather than Aluminium.
For decades, the Swedish Mess kit was a staple for Nordic Soldiers to cook food and make coffee. This Kit was considered an all-inclusive camp kitchen and Pathfinder has recreated this kit to exact specifications in High Quality 304 Food Grade Stainless Steel to be your own trusted mess kit for any adventure.

Great bit of kit
I am sure you know what this is if you are looking for it, but essentially it's a modern version of the classic Swedish Army mess kit which are rare now in the stainless steel. This is an excellent modern update, clearly bombproof. Its not light, but it will outlive me for sure. It can be used with a trangia meths burner which works great, or over a fire. Quality is amazing. Versatile bit of kit, bigger than you might think, could cook proper meals with it. Overall highly recommended!
Great reproduction of a classic!
As a long time collector of camping stoves, this package provides one of the most compact cooking units I have come across. It allows the storage of burner, fuel, folding cup and fire steel in the main container and the overall shape takes up little overall space in a rucksack. In use, the windshield and (Trangia) burner work very efficiently and the two cooking pots can be used in tandem as a double steamer, if required. I also have a very lightweight Trangia non stick frying pan that can sit on top of the windshield if you need a larger cooking area.
The stainless steel construction means a little more weight, but this is insignificant in my opinion.
This unit does all the things a “traditional “ Swedish mess kit can do, with the advantage that it is a( affordable and b) is readily available!
PFM40 Swedish Cook Set
I received this set 2 days after ordering it- excellent. I found that the pot and pan catch did not quite meet, however with thumb pressure there was no problem. After some puzzling I realized that the 2 rings on the pan handle were for attaching a stick to hold over a fire; the 2nd position on the pot handle for the hook, I still haven't worked out. Thinking that the hole in the stand was for a meths burner & the fold out wires inside held the pot, I did this; however the pot was covered with soot indicating incomplete combustion (confirmed by 2-3 'whoop's whilst in use); but when I tried the burner with the TSB stand - no problem. I assume that the stand is used upside down when sticks are used -so why the wire pot stand inside? There is only the box cover info/instructions, is there a you tube demo?
