Petromax Sandwich Iron - Who doesn't love a toasted sandwich?

The sandwich iron is perfectly suitable for toasts, bagels or dumplings. Whether as a snack at the campfire or as a great addition to the BBQ menu: one can toast in the cast-iron moulds in the embers of the campfire or on the barbecue. The toasted bread is crusty and the stuffing deliciously juicy, for the sandwich iron stores heat perfectly.
The pans, which can be separated thanks to a hinge, are ideal for toasts of 11 x 11 cm (4.3 x 4.3 in). But other treats will be a success as well, for a practical locking hook keeps the toast pans together, so that nothing falls down. From sweet to savoury, much can be tried out in the sandwich iron, for even the stored residual heat can be used for baking gently.
The wooden handle fits comfortably in the hand, and the long rod ensures enough distance from the source of heat. The cast iron is provided with what is called a seasoned finish and can therefore be used immediately. For cleaning, simply separate the cast-iron halves thanks to the hinge: that is also incredibly easy due to the natural anti-adhesive effect of cast iron.

Petromax sandwich toaster
have been dying to get my hands on this piece of kit for a while now but it's always been sold out when I check online.....til recently! Got mine delivered within a week of ordering from out here in Malaysia and now understand why they are always sold out - they're absolutely brilliant ! I've stained and lacquered the wooden handles to protect them when I got my toaster and have still only managed to test it out in my kitchen at home cos by the time the weather is cool enough to go out, our daily thunderstorm has started but this toaster produces the most amazing toasted sarnies !. Being cast iron it takes a while to cool down, so don't expect to put it in your backpack 30 mins after use . A definite must for the overnighters . Brilliant service as always from the guys at TBS. What can I say ... it's Petromax quality. Already used a few times and produces great meals in less time. I also have Petromax Wrought Iron Pan. Will likely be adding to my Petromax collection bit by bit.
