The Prandi Spalt Axe is a perfect splitting tool as it combines a splitting axe with a splitting wedge and parts logs easily. It comes in a choice of two different weights and lengths.
The traditional collection from Prandi are super high quality axes and brilliant value. From years of experience Prandi have made a fantastic range at brilliant value and I am amazed they can make such a quality product for the price. The handles on this range of axes are all American Hickory and are brilliantly comfortable and help Helko's axes represent a perfect companion when in the forest.
The Spalt Axe splits extremely well and hold an edge for a prolonged period of time due to Prandi's forging and hardening process. They are easily comparable to the well known brands on the market today and surpass them in some areas.
This axe comes with a choice of Prandi's top grain leather axe mask.

- C45 high grade carbon steel
- Open die drop forged, heat treated, and oil-hardened
- Hand ground and sharpened bit / blade
- Handle crafted from Grade 'A' American hickory
- Individually selected for grain orientation and density
- Traditionally hung using softwood wedge and round steel ring wedge
- Length - 1000g is 70cm and 2000g is 80cm

Bought as a Christmas gift, so not used yet. Arrived well packaged, good quality leather cover . Has a nice weight and feel to it.
