The TBS range of knives are made from top quality European materials and are built to last. We have selected some the best steels for the job, the highest quality handle materials and some great leather work to bring these impeccably made knives to the market.
High Grade Bohler K720 High Carbon Tool steel is one of the toughest steels out there and is used widely to make high precision tools that need to stand up to some serious punishment.
High Grade Bohler N695 Stainless steel which has a high hardness and great wear resistance and is one of Bohlers premium stainless steels. We have decided to make a variant of our knives in this steel as, after quite some testing, we have found that it performs extremely well.
It has a higher Carbon content that many other stainless steels which means it holds an edge longer and can be tempered to the same degree as Carbon Steels. This particular steel actually has a higher content than many High Carbon Tool Steels. This makes it perform with pretty much all the benefits of Carbon Steel with the added bonus of great corrosion resistance.
The blades have a full "Scandi" grind to them that are wickedly sharp straight out of the box. There are big benefits to having a proper Scandi grind to a knife and these are mainly to do with edge maintenance. A Scandi grind essentially means that the whole bevel of the knife is the edge (there is no secondary bevel) so when it comes to sharpening life is made very simple. When sharpening you can simply place the entire knife on the stone, roll it up onto the bevel and you will always achieve the correct angle for sharpening; MUCH easier than a knife with a secondary bevel!
This model is handled in Super Grade Curly Birch from Finland and it is wonderfully ergonomic and fits the hand perfectly for hours of hard work. The handle is very slightly longer (1cm) than most knives of this type on the market and this allows more flexibility for positioning for different uses or simply a better fit for users with larger hands.
The first sheath option is a high quality leather product that allow you to carry the knife in the regular way or offers the versatility of being able to be carried a linear fashion along a belt or to be attached to the strap of a bag or even on MOLLE type webbing if need be. It also is designed to be able to attach different accessories to the front of the sheath like a DC4 Sharpening stone or TBS Fisteel.
The second sheath variant is a Nordic style 3/4 cover sheath that has a regular belt loop and a removeable "dropper" loop for those that prefer to carry their knife a little lower. It also has a firesteel holder that fits a TBS Firesteel.
Our knife range is manufactured from high quality European materials by a top, well known, European manufacturer in small batches; they are NOT churned out in their thousands in a factory in the Far East. This allows us to have ultimate control over quality and materials and we are extremely happy with the results. All models of knife will be logoed with the Boars Head.

This has just become my favourite knife! I have had it a couple of weeks now and it performs brilliantly, really sharp straight out of the box and the curly birch handle on mine not only looks good it really fits the hand well. The sheath is good as well as I like to carry a knife along my belt instead of the traditional way as I find it doesn't get in the way as much, especially if you are in and out of your 4x4. Well done lads it is a real asset to the stable and I can't wait for the folding variants to arrive - you'd better put me one by!!
I agree with Lee; I bought the version that comes with the Aurora Firesteel and am really happy with the performance. The knife is so sharp it actually takes a little bit of getting used to as you tend to go through things a lot quicker than you are used to. Having the Aurora firesteel with it is a real quality touch as well as if you want you can just take the pouch off the front of your knife sheath and wear it on your belt. I have lost a firesteel from my previous knife as they get thinner the more you use it and it fell out of my sheath one day without me noticing. This I know will not happen with the aurora option as it has its own pouch.

Hi Jim, Just a quick word of thanks to yourself and the guys on the stand at Weston park last Saturday, I must apologise for taking up more of your time than I should but you convinced me to take purchase of your TBS Bushcraft knife and I must admit, "what a piece of kit", so much so that I have just ordered another one for my son, once again many thanks for your help and advice.
I am yet to use in the field so this review is on its initial looks and view. I am so pleased with my purchase, it looks just what I expected, and feels so good. It has a good weight, and when holding it in you hand just makes you want to be out there in the wild. A great bit of kit, worth every penny, that I am sure will be next to my side for many years to come.
Really nice knife. I'm surprised there isn't more reviews or talk about them online. Mine came with a lovely curly birch handle. All beautifully finished. Razor sharp out the box (and im fussy about sharpness). Sheath is nice and unusual, but I can see why some prefer a more traditional style and/or dangler. Its a substantial knife with a true scandi (many factory made scandi's actually have a secondary micro bevel this one is true scandi) Balance point is a hair behind centre of the first rivet. Grind angle is a nice ratio, strength v sharpness. Seems to be a good steel so far, time will tell. For the price I would really recommend them as great bang for buck. Certainly with the dollar exchange rate there is little to compete with it from the US market. You really need to spend at least £200 to get anything better I would say.
Had my boar couple of years now & has been used & abused & I can't fault it as said before sharp out of the box & stays sharp with a week's constant use the carbon steel is very strong not even a nick in the blade easy to sharpen & resist's rust much better than my 01carbon (much more expensive) knife the handle shape is so comfy (curly bearch) can carve for hours I always clean with lighter fluid coat blade in gun oil & use linseed oil on the wood this knife will outlast me my only gripe is the sheath if worn traditionally it sits way to high on belt but does sit nicely horizontally on back of belt leather coating has peeled quite bad but to be fair has had many years of abuse & there was no dangler option at the time so I guess tbs had spotted this & i'm reviewing the knife so 5* excellent product
Got mine today razor sharp strait out of the box the workmanship on the sheath and knife looks first class cant wait to get it out and into the woods this weekend
