The TBS Firesteel has been a phenomenal success and this is the 12.5mm version that is the same formula that is in our steels, just bigger. The Fatboy rod is the super sized 12.5mm blank which is the same thickness as the steel in our Fatboy firesteel. They are ideal for making your own firestarter, simply handle it with your own choice of material or simply leave it bare for a more compact way of storage in survival kits.
We find they are ideal for adding to any survival kit and you can simply wrap it with paracord to fashion a handle when needed. These Fatboy rods are 1/2" (12.5mm) thick and 3" (75mm) long and ideal for making your own firesteels or simply as a good sized rod for a compact fire kit.

For the current price (even at the normal price to be fair) these are hard to beat, not too hard and not too soft means they sit in the Goldilocks zone for a great mix of sparks.
