TBS Flint & Steel Firesteel
The TBS Flint & Steel Firesteel is a great asset to any firelighting kit and is great for using with a piece of flint to get sparks and is also excellent to use as a striker for a ferro rod.
The best product to accompany this is a good piece of flint, which is not included but is widely available straight out of the ground and some char cloth. Char cloth is simply a piece of cotton, or similar material, that has been heated without oxygen (Pyrolysis) until it is jet black. This material has an extremely low ignition point making an ideal tinder for a flint and steel as it will give off a dull orange spark.
Using a steel for firelighting can be difficult and requires practice and patience but once you have mastered the method it is an extremely satisfying way to get a fire lit and a great skill to have.
This si the steel only and you will need to source flint but it's abundant in the UK so should be easily found.
With a good quality piece of flint this tool will supply the spark you need.
I would have preferred the Wilmas Eldstal tool however this tool is just as good and does supply a very similar spark shower, practice is all you need.
Seem to be a good lroduct
