The Blade Medic Blade Balm
Keeping your kit in tip top condition is essential in the field and if you look after your kit it will look after you. I always sort my kit out before anything else as the "I'll do it later" is a 100% guarantee that it just won't get done.
Blade Medic Balm is a soft, all-round field paste designed for people who actually use their kit. Made with traditional, proven ingredients — beeswax, camellia oil and vitamin E — it protects steel, feeds wood, conditions leather and shrugs off wet weather.
Pocket-friendly. Cold-weather workable. Built for the outdoors. Food Safe. I especially like the "Lip Balm" type tube applicator as it is ideal for your field kit and especially good for helping a Carbon steel knife avoid corrosion.
Features:
- Prevents rust and corrosion on blades and tools
- Conditions wooden handles and leather sheaths
- Water-repellent beeswax barrier
- Soft, scoop able texture — works even in the cold
- Food-safe ingredients
- No petroleum, silicone's or synthetic fillers
What’s Inside
- Camellia Oil – Traditional sword-care oil, excellent for corrosion prevention and wood conditioning.
- Beeswax – Natural waterproofing and protective finish.
- Vitamin E Oil – Antioxidant to help preserve both the balm and treated surfaces.
That’s it. No perfumes. No gimmicks. Absolutely no chemicals.
How to Use
On Metal:
Apply a thin smear to clean steel. Buff lightly with cloth. Ideal after wet days or coastal use.
On Wood:
Massage into dry handles. Leave to soak for a few minutes, then wipe off excess.
On Leather:
Apply sparingly. Let absorb, then polish. Keeps sheaths supple without softening them excessively.
